Vintage, refaced
"Smooth Bore"
Tenor Sax Mpc.

The facing is marked as a 5...I measure the tip opening at 0.082"

This is another "sleeper" which is well worth a try.
While it is marked "Santy Runyon" on the shank, I am not positive it is a "Smooth Bore". The only other Smooth Bore I have seen is the Bari Sax Smooth Bore I have for sale.
And as I state there, it is reminiscent of a Berg Larsen, in part because of the bullet-shaped cutout in the baffle.

It has been refaced and the chamber altered. No idea who did it, but they did a great job...it plays really well.
Certainly not the prettiest mouthpiece, it'll go to someone who testplays it.
It is brass mouthpiece that was chrome or nickel-plated. When refaced, the facing was taken down to the bare brass.

Here is a sound sample of the of this mouthpiece (click the "Play" button) recorded May 21, 2010:

Runyon SmoothBore Tenor Sax Mpc.
