Marked 9* on the table.
On the shank, it is marked:
"Otto Link Co.
New York, NY"
Marked on the side of the mouthpiece:
"SERIAL NO. P-11"
This is the "Tone Master", which preceded the "Super Tone Master".
It was made in the 1940's or 1950's.
While it is rare to find a 7 or 8 facing...an original 9* facing like this is unheard of.
The Gold-Plate over Silver-Plate finish on this "Bell-Metal" brass mouthpiece is in great condition.
**Darker-playing "Tone Master"--1.75 on the brightness scale
[Brightness scale 1-5 (1=dark, 5=brilliant)]
**If you’re looking for that vintage '40s sound, this has it.
**NO need to open it up since the tip reads .100!!
**Great Detail to tip/baffle--original handcrafted facing
**Bite plate has minimal wear
**Comes with vintage, fat knob ligature
